How it works

Five steps, start to payout

Most cases follow the same five steps. We tell you which one you're in, every time we talk.

  1. 01

Step 1: You tell us what happened

Call, write or use the form. A lawyer reads it, not a call center.

  2. 02

Step 2: We read the paperwork

Contracts, repair orders, letters, credit reports. We tell you if we see a case and why.

  3. 03

Step 3: We sign an agreement

In writing, with what we charge, who pays costs, and what happens if we lose.

  4. 04

Step 4: We make the demand

A letter to the company with the proof attached. Many cases settle here.

  5. 05

Step 5: We file if we must

If the company won’t move, we sue, and we prepare you for every step.

Who pays the lawyer

Many consumer laws, including lemon laws and the federal debt-collection and credit-reporting laws, make the company pay the consumer's lawyer fees when the consumer wins. So in most of our cases, you don't pay us by the hour and you don't pay up front.

The engagement agreement spells out every cost before you sign: who pays the filing fee, what happens to costs if we lose, and how any settlement is split.

A man and a woman talk across a table spread with papers, a phone and glasses of water

Two things to gather first

What should I have ready?

Whatever paperwork you have: the contract, repair orders, letters from the collector, your credit report. Photos on your phone are fine.

Is the first conversation free?

Yes. There’s no charge to find out whether you have a case.

Will I have to go to court?

Most cases settle without a trial. If yours goes to a deposition or a hearing, we prepare you and sit beside you.

Do you take cases outside Riverside?

We work across the Inland Empire and meet by video when driving in is hard.

Ready to send us the papers?

Tell us what happened. It takes a few minutes.

Lemon, debt-collection and credit-reporting laws often make the company pay the consumer's lawyer fees when the consumer wins. We advance filing fees and other case costs; if we recover nothing, you owe us neither fees nor costs.
