FAQ

What consumers ask us first

How do you get paid?

In most cases, by the company. Lemon laws and the federal debt-collection and credit-reporting laws make the company pay the consumer's lawyer fees when the consumer wins. Your agreement explains how fees and costs work in your case.

Do you ever represent companies?

No. We only represent consumers, so we never have to weigh your case against a client on the other side.

I signed an arbitration agreement. Can you still help?

Yes. Many of our cases are decided by an arbitrator instead of a judge, and the company usually pays the arbitration fees.

How long will my case take?

Lemon cases often settle in a few months. Lawsuits and credit cases can take longer. We give you a realistic range at the start and update it as things change.

What if you think I don’t have a case?

We'll tell you, and explain why. If another kind of lawyer or a free program could help, we'll point you to them.

Can you help with a car I already traded in or sold?

Sometimes. A lemon or fraud claim can survive the sale. Bring the old paperwork.

Do I need to come to your office?

No. We meet in person on Orange Street, by video or by phone, and you can send documents by email or text.

Should I keep talking to the company?

Keep records of everything, but once we take your case, let us do the talking. Don’t sign anything new before we read it.

A question we didn’t answer here?

Ask it. A lawyer will answer, usually within two business days.
